Due to the retirement of our SENCO, we are seeking to appoint an inspiring, highly competent and committed SENDCo to become an integral part of our Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be an exceptional leader who will join us at an exciting phase. We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching, and hard working with excellent organisational skills. An experienced SENCO with a proven track record and the NASENCO Award would be preferable.
We believe that everyone, students and staff alike, should have the opportunity to be nourished and grow. On site we have a specialist Communication and Interaction Unit, which is line managed by the SENCO. Therefore, we are seeking to recruit a proactive and forward-thinking member of staff to enrich the skills and experience already present in our SEND Team. We aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and diligent. The SENCO is also part of the school’s wider SMT. We have 1936 students and in 2023 OFSTED judged us as ‘Good’. We have a highly successful specialist Communication and Interaction Unit on site.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who:
- Is an inspiring, outstanding classroom practitioner
- Has the ability to work as part of and lead a strong team
- Has an excellent understanding of how to support the learning of students with additional needs.
- Is able to Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for pupils
- Is secure in their knowledge of pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Is willing to go that extra mile to give all children best possible start in life
